How to Use the Delivery Rider Calculator

  1. Enter kilometres covered while completing deliveries.
  2. Add unpaid, repositioning, pickup-area, and return-home distance.
  3. Enter real delivery mileage in km/L and the current petrol price per litre.
  4. Choose expected working days and optionally enter completed orders per day.
  5. Review daily and monthly fuel, expense, cost per kilometre, and cost per order.

Delivery Rider Fuel Cost Formula

Daily distance = delivery distance + unpaid and return distance

Daily litres = daily distance ÷ real mileage (km/L)

Daily petrol cost = daily litres × petrol price

Monthly petrol cost = daily petrol cost × working days

Fuel cost per order = daily petrol cost ÷ completed orders

Worked Delivery Shift Example

A rider covers 80 km on deliveries plus 12 km travelling to a zone, repositioning, and returning home. At 40 km/L and a petrol price of PKR 280/L:

Daily distance = 80 + 12 = 92 km

Daily fuel = 92 ÷ 40 = 2.3 L

Daily petrol cost = 2.3 × 280 = PKR 644

26-day cost = 644 × 26 = PKR 16,744

At 18 orders: 644 ÷ 18 = PKR 35.78 fuel per order

The example estimates petrol only; it is not an earnings or profit calculation.

Count the Distance Delivery Apps Do Not Show

Order distance may omit travel before accepting an order, movement toward pickup locations, repositioning between delivery zones, cancelled-order travel, and the ride home. Leaving these kilometres out understates petrol consumption.

Track the odometer at the start and end of several full shifts. This whole-shift distance is usually more useful for expense planning than adding only customer-facing route estimates.

Use Real Delivery Mileage

Urban traffic, repeated starts, idling, short trips, gradients, weather, passenger or cargo weight, tyre pressure, chain condition, engine maintenance, and riding behaviour can change motorcycle or scooter fuel efficiency.

Calculate observed mileage across several refills: distance travelled ÷ litres refilled. Use a representative delivery-period average, not an unsupported manufacturer claim.

What This Estimate Does Not Include

This tool covers petrol expense. It excludes oil, servicing, tyres, brakes, repairs, insurance, registration, depreciation, phone and mobile data, equipment, parking, penalties, taxes, platform fees, and the rider's time.

It also does not estimate delivery income, tips, bonuses, incentives, commissions, or profit. Use the result as one input in a broader operating-cost record.

Methodology, Assumptions, and Accuracy

The calculator keeps full precision internally and rounds displayed results. It assumes entered distance, mileage, petrol price, working days, and orders remain representative. Zero mileage cannot produce a fuel estimate, and zero orders leaves per-order cost blank.
