Uber & Careem Petrol Calculator
Estimate fuel used and petrol expense for rideshare driving. Separate paid trip distance from unpaid pickup and repositioning kilometres, then project the same driving pattern across a month.
Rideshare Petrol Expense Calculator
Use your own daily driving, measured mileage, petrol price, and currency.
Distance travelled with a passenger or on a paid booking.
Pickup travel, repositioning, and driving without a fare.
Prefer an average measured across several refills.
Results use the same currency as the price you enter.
Used only for the monthly projection.
Used only to show fuel cost as a share of gross revenue.

Instructions
How to Use the Rideshare Fuel Calculator
- Enter kilometres driven on paid passenger trips.
- Add unpaid pickup, repositioning, and return distance.
- Enter measured vehicle mileage in km/L and the current petrol price per litre.
- Set a realistic number of working days for the monthly projection.
- Optionally enter gross daily revenue to see only what share is consumed by petrol.
The entered petrol price also supplies the result currency. The tool performs no live fuel-price or exchange-rate lookup.
Formula
Uber and Careem Petrol Cost Formula
Daily distance = paid km + unpaid km
Daily fuel = daily distance ÷ km/L
Daily petrol cost = daily fuel × price/L
Monthly cost = daily cost × working days
Cost per km = daily cost ÷ daily distance
Fuel revenue share = daily fuel cost ÷ gross revenue × 100
Calculations keep full precision internally and round only displayed results. Revenue share is a fuel-cost ratio, not profit, net income, or a forecast of driver earnings.
Example
Worked Rideshare Petrol Expense Example
Inputs: 120 paid km, 30 unpaid km, 12 km/L, petrol at PKR 280/L, and 26 working days.
Daily distance = 120 + 30 = 150 km
Daily petrol = 150 ÷ 12 = 12.5 litres
Daily petrol cost = 12.5 × 280 = PKR 3,500
Fuel cost per km = 3,500 ÷ 150 = PKR 23.33/km
Monthly petrol cost = 3,500 × 26 = PKR 91,000
This example is illustrative. It is not an earnings estimate and does not show whether driving is profitable.
Complete distance
Paid Trips, Pickup Distance, and Empty Running
Passenger kilometres are only part of a rideshare driver's route. Travel to a pickup, movement between demand areas, cancelled pickup travel, breaks, refuelling detours, and the drive home can all consume fuel without appearing as paid trip distance.
Use trip records, an odometer, or a route log to estimate both distance groups. If you know only the full distance driven, enter it under paid distance and set unpaid distance to zero; the fuel total remains correct, but the split will not describe vehicle utilisation.
Real conditions
What Changes a Rideshare Driver's Fuel Cost
Traffic and idling
Congestion, queues at pickup points, and time spent idling with climate control can lower real km/L.
Vehicle and passengers
Engine condition, tyre pressure, passenger and luggage load, and air-conditioning use influence consumption.
Shift and route
Short urban trips, hills, airport queues, late-night routes, and highway driving create different mileage patterns.
Price and measurement
Fuel-price changes, missing distance logs, and mileage based on one short refill can distort a monthly projection.
Measure fuel efficiency over several normal shifts. Update it when your vehicle, route mix, traffic pattern, season, or driving schedule changes.
Scope
Fuel Expense, Revenue Share, and Profit Are Different
Daily revenue is optional and is used only to calculate the percentage consumed by estimated petrol. Gross booking receipts may not equal the amount paid to a driver, and a smaller fuel share does not prove a shift was profitable.
A complete operating-cost review also needs platform commission and fees, maintenance, oil, tyres, cleaning, insurance, licensing, taxes, financing, depreciation, mobile data, tolls, parking, and unpaid working time. This calculator deliberately does not guess those values.
Boundaries
Assumptions and Limitations
The monthly result assumes the same distance, mileage, petrol price, and work pattern on every selected day. It does not model surge pricing, bonuses, demand, cancellations, commissions, tax, or future petrol prices. Actual consumption changes with traffic, idling, weather, gradients, load, driving style, vehicle condition, and air-conditioning use.
This page serves app-based rideshare drivers. Use the commercial-driver calculator for broader taxi or commercial operating patterns and the delivery-rider calculator for motorcycle delivery work. For an individual route, use the trip petrol calculator; for a general household budget, use the monthly petrol calculator.

Transparent method
Methodology and Accuracy
The calculator adds paid and unpaid kilometres before applying fuel efficiency. It divides total daily kilometres by km/L, multiplies litres by the entered price, and projects the result using working days. No platform, fuel-price, or location data is fetched.
